Each year North Plains Electric Cooperative selects two high school students from around our service area to attend the annual National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Government-In-Action Youth Tour in Washington, D.C.  While in our Nation’s capitol students meet with their Congressman and tour the U.S. Capitol Building, Library of Congress, and Supreme Court.  Participants also visit the monuments and memorials along with the Holocaust Museum, Arlington National Cemetery, the Washington National Cathedral, and Mount Vernon just to name a few.

Applicants must have completed your sophomore year of high school to attend the Youth Tour. Winners are selected based on their application and through an interview process.
